Greetings all,
Last December, we were excited to announce we received a grant from the Harbus Foundation, which supports the work of education, literacy and journalism nonprofits. The support Harbus provided to PLML was significant in that, in addition to funding, we gained assistance from a volunteer consulting team.
I'd like to thank our team members, Lincoln Edwards, Jeffrey Nelson, Stephanie Atiase, Colt Stander, Andrew Holmes and Naman Shah, for their contribution. These fine Harvard Business School students have assisted us in creating a scorecard we will use to benchmark and measure our success, and importantly, the successes (and challenges) of the educational tools we have set out to deliver.
Why do we need a scorecard? We know the educational tools we create can reach teachers, students and entire schools; but it is of the utmost importance that the tools we provide are of the highest quality, and help educators (you, readers) to make a bigger instructional impact. These measurements, and measurements about our ability to sustain and grow the release of new tools, are a part of our scorecard. Ultimately, these metrics will drive our management decisions.
And so, once again, I'd like to thank the Harbus team, and the Harbus Foundation, for their support of our educational mission; and will close with the promise to make their support truly count.
Cheers,
--Dave
